When sending an email to all members of a group, by default, the group manager is not included in the list of recipients. Remember to check the “Add managers” option, which I often forget to do. Couldn't we invert the default value of this option? Make sure that, by default, group managers are among the recipients if you have chosen to send to all members of the group.
